Assignments from before Spring Break

Below are the assignments for Pegasus, Phaethon, and the flower myths the Ms. Griffin did the week before spring break. These assignments may be turned in for points.



Monday: Read/Discuss "Pegasus and Bellerophon". Write summary of myth in unit two notes. Answer questions with a partner or take a reading quiz. I have attached the questions.
Quiz:
1. What famous character is Glaucus, the King of Corinth, the son of?
2. Where does the winged horse Pegasus come from?
3. What does Athena give Bellerophon so he can charm Pegasus?
4. What crime did Bellerophon “accidentally” commit?
5. After offending Proteus’ wife, and being sent to Lycia(hopefully to be killed), what does the Lycian king order Bellerophon to go and slay?

After reading the flower myths, select one flower myth (Narcissus, Hyacinth, or Adonis) and create a one page mini-poster. Your mini-poster should include the following:

1. Title of myth
2. A brief and accurate summary of the myth that explains how this flower came into existence.
3. An illustration from the myth.
4. A significant/important quotation from the myth.
5. Color
